The Calgary Intercultural Youth Choir (CIYC) is more than just a choir it’s a vibrant, inclusive community where young people come together to explore music, develop leadership, and celebrate cultural diversity. Founded with the vision of building unity through the power of song, CIYC welcomes youth from all walks of life, creating a space where every voice is valued and every story is honored.
From weekly rehearsals to public performances, from leadership workshops to cultural exchanges, CIYC nurtures the full potential of each participant. Our singers don’t just learn to harmonize musically they learn to lead, listen, and connect with others in meaningful ways. Whether a student is new to music or a seasoned performer, our programs are designed to ignite confidence, foster creativity, and spark a lifelong love for community engagement.

Our Story
Born from the belief that music can be a powerful force for unity, CIYC was created to reflect Calgary’s growing multicultural community. Since its founding, the choir has welcomed youth from a wide array of backgrounds to come together in song, share their experiences, and grow as individuals and leaders.
